I continue to explore the relationship between humans and the machines they create and how those machines exist in their environment. In this annual event where artists are given a wooden bowl to create/transform into an art piece, I created this jellyfish-like automaton. Specifically, in this piece, I’m exploring how a jellyfish may evolve in a polluted ocean. The majority of elements used in the making of this piece are reclaimed scrap and found objects. This piece features a rechargeable Bluetooth dongle for pairing devices and 3 reclaimed speakers that are powered by a 200watt amp.
